Know what you're defending against

Third, require strong passwords and offer two-factor authentication on customer accounts. Fourth, keep your platform and plugins updated — most breaches exploit known, patched vulnerabilities. Fifth, use fraud-screening rules to flag risky orders for review instead of auto-fulfilling them. And sixth, watch your own patterns: sudden spikes in declines, new-account orders with expedited shipping, or many cards from one IP address all deserve a second look.
